Innovation Workshop
Ocean Sole’s approach is fresh and exciting. It also offers a blueprint that is teachable and applicable to other tough problems.
We’ve created an innovation workshop that breaks down Ocean Sole's approach to solving big problems into a workshop that your institution can host and facilitate. It’s a way to engage nonprofits, stakeholders in your community, and students.
These workshops should also act as activations that can be amplified on social media.
Innovation Workshop: Building an Ecosystem for Good
Using Ocean Sole as a case study, participants learn a replicable framework for tackling big problems with creativity, community, and ingenuity.
The session covers:
An overview of Ocean Sole — who they are, what they built, and how they did it
The Ocean Sole Blueprint — a step-by-step framework for building solutions that last:
Define a focused problem area
Look at the communities most affected — what local solutions already exist?
Find opportunities to support, leverage, and scale those solutions
Build in self-sustainability from the start
Involve and benefit the community through social enterprise
Small group work using the Blueprint on a real problem
Shareout and group discussion
Who it's for
Nonprofits 2–3 hours · 15–30 participants
Invite local nonprofits for a working session that applies the Ocean Sole Blueprint to their own challenges. A powerful convening opportunity for your institution — and a meaningful program for the organizations you invite.
Local Community 2–3 hours · 15–45 participants
Choose a local problem, invite community stakeholders, and work through it together. The Blueprint becomes a shared framework for a room full of people who all have a stake in the outcome.
Youth / High School 55 minutes · Onsite or at local schools
A simplified version of the full workshop, called “The Ocean Sole Challenge” designed to fit a class period. Can be run inside your venue or taken directly to schools as an outreach program.
