Our youth programming is designed to meet kids where they are: in the exhibit, at a workshop table, or in a classroom challenge that asks them to think like the innovators behind Ocean Sole.
The Big Idea Station

As a step in the exhibit, Big Idea Station gives every guest a moment to bring their perspective and imagination to creating a better future for our oceans.
Choose a Tough Problem area, grab a Big Idea Canvas, and sketch your idea. Then put it up to share your thinking and inspire others.
The Upcycling Workshop
Facilitated · Elementary & middle school
Trash becomes art in this hands-on workshop for younger guests. Choose a sea creature, then build a colorful mosaic from materials that would otherwise go to waste. Make art and make things better, just like Ocean Sole.
The Ocean Sole Challenge
Facilitated · High school
In this guided workshop, we break down how Ocean Sole turned a beach full of trash into a global creative conservation movement — then hand their blueprint over to you.
Using Ocean Sole's approach as a framework, teams tackle a real problem and develop an idea that could actually change things. The world needs more Ocean Soles. This is where they start.
